TEAM MAD MOUSE HAMMERS COMPETITION!
Frances Langford Memorial King Mackerel Tournament - Jensen Beach, Florida

Congratulations to the Mad Mouse Fishing Team for their impressive victory despite tough conditions. The seas were big, and the crew aboard the boat was small.

Unable to make the trip were team regulars, Sam Locklear and Monica Ferris. Despite their absence, both teammates were present in spirit. Sam’s wife had recently given birth to their son, Jackson, and Monica had college exams. This left team Captain Rob Ferris and Carl Carson, of the Hanson Group, to fish the event in Ferris’ new SC32.

“It was a true test of equipment this week,” said Captain Ferris. “We battled very large seas. Our gear, from the boat to the tackle, was put to the test. All, of which I might add, performed flawlessly”.

The team’s, and tournament’s, largest fish was landed on Saturday afternoon when Ferris punished the SKA’s scales with a 51.52 pound brute.

Ferris and the Mad Mouse team would like to thank their sponsors and supporters: SeaCraft Boats, Mercury Motors, Raymarine Electronics, EZ Loader Trailers, Cannon Downriggers, P-line, Spro Sports Professionals, Daiichi Bleeding Bait Hooks, and Bigfish Tools web design.

A special thanks and congratulations goes to the Liquid Fire Fishing Team aboard the new SeaCraft 23TE. Captain Mark Henderson, Chris Waters, Joshua Henderson and Crockett Henderson lead the team to top honors in the second tournament of the 2008 Yamaha Professional Kingfish Tour on the same weekend.

“Team Mad Mouse starts the 2008 season with a new ride”
“We are very pleased with the new 2008 model SeaCraft SC32 this season,” said team Capt. Rob Ferris. However, not a model change for the crew, the new boat has a few changes over last seasons boat mainly the addition of more horsepower. This will be the teams first year running the New Verado 300s Manufactured by Mercury. “We have a lot more power and speed than previous boats, as well as the unbelievable quietness of these engines” The team also added the Coffin box and bait well combination on the forward deck. This gives the team much more storage and additional bait or cooler storage, giving them the ability to carry over 200 gallons of live bait to the fishing grounds. “We can’t say enough about the SeaCraft 32, it is an unbelievable fishing platform and gets us out to the fishing grounds in style and comfort. The combination of the incredibly soft ride and the seaworthiness allows us to go places a lot of other competitors would shy away from” Ferris said. You can see the team’s boat at many of the upcoming boat shows as well as on one of their many Tournament stops during the SKA 2008 season.
